For about a month I stayed away from purchasing makeup, or anything that I didn’t absolutely need, really. However, I broke down and bought a few things, which are shown in this haul. However, 2 other sales took advantage of me while I was weak and I ended up placing a few online orders, which will be shown in future hauls once they arrive. Anyway, I’ve purchased a few random items from books, haircare, and nailpolish. Keep reading to see what I bought!
The Carrie Diaries: the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation, Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. Read more information on the book here. I picked this up because I am obsessed with the Sex and the City. Of course, I had to read this book and I can’t wait to read the sequel after!
Sliding Into Home: Kendra Wilkinson, former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and Girls Next Door star, shares her autobiography which includes everything from growing up to her life at the playboy mansion, and now beyond as a wife and mother. More information on the book here. Similarly with SATC, I loved the Girls Next Door and Kendra was always my favorite. I had been wanting to read this now since it came out around a year or so ago. I am almost done with the Harry Potter series, unfortunately (review/thoughts coming in a blog post in the near future), so this looked like it would be an easy, quick read which I am looking forward to after reading around 3,000 pages for a series.
Nivea Goodbye Cellulite Gel-Cream: I just made a post about wanting this, so I had to pick it up when I saw it at Walgreens for 25% off and then I had an additional $3 off coupon. I ended up paying $7 and saving $6. Not too shabby. I have not used this yet but will do updates about this product.
ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer: I have been using this product for a while now, and was about out so I stopped into Sallys to pick up another, and use the coupon I had (see below).
Sinful Colors in Timbleberry: NOTD
China Glaze For Audry: NOTD
China Glaze Crackle in Lightning Bolt
China Glaze Crackle in Cracked Concrete
I had a coupon for a free China Glaze Nail Polish with any $10 purchase at Sallys. I ended up getting these polishes, with the China Glaze For Audry for free! I have yet to use the crackle polishes but I cannot wait to! Stay tuned for a NOTD featuring them! See swatches below, although the crackle effect did not work very well, because I think it was on a notecard rather than an actual finger nail.
While this item is not beauty related, I had to show it. Kicks, my yorkie, loves wearing shirts. However, in summer I can’t put a thick sweater on him because he’ll be too hot. However, I saw this for $1 at Target and simply could not pass it up. It summarizes him completely, or at least what he thinks about him self. While he is the smallest in our family, he definitely believes he is the alpha dog, and the leader of the pack.
I always try to apply as little styling products to my hair as possible. I currently only apply to products to my hair, because I find that if you go over-board your hair can end up looking weighed down and greasy. However, when I heard about the BLOW Ready Set Blow Express Blow Dry Lotion I was intrigued! It claims it is specifically formulated to accelerate drying time while delivering weightless nourishment and manageability without residue. Supposedly, it will revitalize limp locks, providing volume, and lock out humidity to hold the shape and structure. It is also contains no sulfates, parabens, artifical fillers, or alcohol. Based on reviews this product actually works without weighing down your hair! I’m interested!
You can buy this for $21 at Ulta.
Have you tried this, or any of the other BLOW products? If so, what do you think about them? Let me know!
I used to have hair that was a bit past my bust. I loved it, but it was extremely unhealthy and damaged. I then cut my hair to above my shoulders and have begun taking much better care of it. Since then, my hair has never been in a better condition. I make sure to get cuts regularly so I do not have split ends. However, they used to be bad and I think that if there was ever a time where I had to wait a bit longer for a trim that the Nexxus ProMend could be helpful. After reading reviews, this sounds like a good emergency product. No hair prodcut can truly mend split ends, but some can hide it. Nexxus ProMend is said to help conceal split ends. Many reviews say this product does help to hide them. However, it can cause build up, which is bad for your hair so I wouldn’t use this as a pro-longed product. I would be interested in having this product as a backup for any emergency product, but wouldn’t rely on it for everyday use.
Have you tried this product? What did you think? Let me know!
Suave recently came out with new products for their haircare line. I’m sure you all have seen the commercials and they are big into marketing ‘you won’t be able to tell the difference from Salon brands.’ I have never been the biggest fan of Suave, but I recently tried their new Dry Shampoo and I actually like it for the most part (I plan to do a review on all dry shampoos I’ve tried). If you’ve been interested in their products, but also a bit skeptical to go out and spend your money on them I have a deal for you!
Right now you can head over to Suave’s website to watch a few short videos where they’re comparing their products to salon products and you have to guess which one you think it the Suave product. It is super easy, I did it and it only took about 5 minutes. Once you have 4 questions right you can receive your 2 free products, which says it’ll arrive in 6-8 weeks. If you don’t have time to watch 4 videos you can do any number (there are 8 clips total) and each right answer will give you a prize! Once you’ve answered all the questions you want click “Claim Your Prize” at the top of the page and fill out your mailing address!
Hope you guys enjoy! Have you found any other great deals today? Let me know!
I was watching Bunzie13’s March Favorites and she mentioned Lush’s Stimulating Spice Bar Shampoo. I was skeptical at first because solid, bar shampoos have never appealed to me. The more she talked about it the more I felt like I needed it! She said that it gave you a tingling feeling due to the cinnamon. I love cinnamon! It is one of my favorite scents! She also said that it helped to promote hair growth. Whether it actually does or not, I figure it can’t hurt to try because after this summer I am planning on growing my hair out.
So now I’m asking you guys: Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts about it? Did you like it ? How is the formula, due to the fact that it is in a bar? Do you think it promotes hair growth? And most of all, would you recommend it? Let me know, I want your thoughts!
