A Lemming A Day: Face Masks

21 May

I absolutely love face masks.  Skincare is extremely important to me and I think of it as a mini “me” time.  It soothes me to take off my make up and do a regular skincare routine.  Incorporating masks is just as important to me and a huge guilty pleasure.  Recently I’ve come across 3 masks that I want to get my hands on immediately!

The Boscia Luminizing Black Mask is a new peel off mask that boosts skin clarity and radiance. It removes dirt and impurities while refining the look of pores to reveals a smoother, brighter complexion.  It contains Vitamin C, Montmorillonite Clay, Pine Bark Extract, Jojoba Leaf, and Willowherb which all have individual benefits.  This includes removing bacteria and excess oil,  preventing free-radical damage, such as lines, wrinkles, dryness and dullness, and a  reduced skin roughness and minimized lines and wrinkles, resulting in younger-looking skin.

This comes in a powder form and you mix it with water to form a clay consistency.  However, instead of simply using water you can mix it with Jojoba oil, apple cider vinegar, or other similar products.  It seems similar to the Mint Julep mask in the consistency and look of it.  Similar to the Boscia mask mentioned above, it is said to clear out the impurities of your skin.  Negatives about this product is that it can burn your skin if left on for too long, so you need to follow exactly what the instructions say.  Also, you will need to use a cloth to remove the product because if you simply wash it off over your sink it can clog your drains.   I cannot find  much information about this on like but you can purchase this from Amazon and Whole Foods.

The Kate Somverville’s Quench Hydrating Mask is said to calms and soothes skin while delivering dramatic hydration leaving it smooth and soft.  It contains hyaluronic acid, pulling moisture deep into the skin cells, helping to soften skin and plump cells. Cucumber and Willowherb extracts helps to soothe sensitivity, reduce redness and restore a healthy tone and glow to skin.  This comes in a gel consistency and you only have to leave it on for around 10 minutes, so it would be easy to incorporate into a weekday routine.

Have you tried any of these masks?  If so, what did you think about them?  Any other masks you absolutely love?  Let me know!
